Boca Grande is, in my opinion the best place to go to get away from it all. The relaxing lifestyle of Gasparilla Island is so soothing to the soul. It is always quiet, never over populated even in the peak season. The turquoise water alone makes it all worth it. When you plan your trip to Boca Grande don’t miss out on a kayak trip. The inland waters of Charlotte Harbor are abundant in sea life. From manatees and dolphins to jumping mullet fish and if your lucky and in-season you may see a tarpon! Paddle past a weathered railroad bridge or kayak through mangrove tunnels. There are paved paths through out the island where you can rent a golf cart to cruise around or just take a leisure bike ride. You can find rentals here. When you’re done grab some ice cream from The Pink Pony to cool off!
I met the Andrews family in Boca Grande last week while they were down on vacation. They rented a few little beach condos and spent the week with their toes in the sand. I can’t think of a better way to spend a vacation. They were such a fun bunch! The boys even brought boogie boards and changed into their swim suits at the end! They had so much fun! The mommas even wore my favorite designer, Lilly Pulitzer! Love all her fun and bright designs! Here are a few of my favorites from their session!
Life is full of unexpected ups and downs, it isn’t a smooth ride. That’s why I had to include this sweet picture of all the grandkids. It may not be picture perfect, but it’s reality, it’s life, and that’s what I love to capture. They are all memories, good and well, not so good. 🙂
